SPRING 2010 CLASS INFORMATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Courses:
ART:
PRINTMAKING
Press-Free Printmaking
[2000028]
Printmaking is ideal for artists who love to experiment and try new things. Open to artists of all levels, this course will introduce students to a wide variety of printmaking techniques that do not require a press. This way, you can continue printing at home or in the studio without the need from special equipment. Students will explore basic elements of design as they learn to create monoprints, collagraphs, and block-prints using a wide variety of materials. By combining printing methods and adding collage elements students will discover new and exciting ways to create rich textures and surprising effects. For beginning artists, emphasis will be placed on formal issues including composition, line, form, and texture while more advanced artists can enjoy translating their favorite imagery into print form.
