Conceptual Illustration

Closed

Students of all levels will be taught step by step processes for developing a conceptual image and will learn how to use symbols, analogy, and metaphor to convey a specific idea. Assignments will include creating a conceptual illustration determined by the student’s interests. Students will work in the media of their choice, and are encouraged to seek inspiration from a variety of sources: personal experience, imagination, photography, art, literature and mass media. This course will also provide guidance for students considering higher education in fine art and interested in developing an illustration portfolio. Bring a 2B pencil, drawing pad (any size) and eraser to the first class. Additional materials will be discussed during the first class. Students MUST enroll 5 business days prior to the course start date, the final day to register without paying a $15 late fee for all classes in the Fall 2014 semester is September 22nd.
